- 1 package (5 oz) vanilla instant pudding mix
- 3 cups cold whole milk
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 3 bananas, sliced
- 2 cups vanilla wafers (whole or crushed)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until it begins to thicken. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the sweetened condensed milk until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth and fluffy. Set aside in the fridge.
- Wash and slice the strawberries. Peel and slice the bananas. Toss banana slices in lemon juice to prevent browning if preparing ahead.
- In a trifle dish, start with a layer of vanilla wafers, then add a layer of the pudding mixture, followed by sliced strawberries and bananas. Repeat the layers until you reach the top.
- Finish with a final layer of whipped topping and garnish with extra fruit and crushed wafers.
- Cover and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
- This dessert can be prepared a day in advance for best flavor.
- Using firm bananas will help them hold up better in the trifle.
