Description

Delicious stuffed French toast roll-ups filled with your choice of Nutella, cream cheese, or fruit preserves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices thick bread (Texas toast or challah)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (or almond milk)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for frying)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Optional fillings: Nutella, cream cheese, or fruit preserves

Instructions

  1. Trim the crusts from the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin.
  2. Spread your chosen filling evenly across each slice.
  3. Roll each slice tightly around the filling and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture and place seam-side down in the pan.
  7. Fry until golden brown on all sides, remove from heat and sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup before serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier texture, make sure the skillet is properly heated before adding the roll-ups.
  • Feel free to adjust the fillings according to your taste preferences.
