- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons eggnog
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients and mix to form a soft dough.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the dough and cut into holiday shapes.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 9–11 minutes.
- Let cookies cool completely. Mix eggnog and powdered sugar to make the glaze.
- Spoon glaze over cookies and top with nutmeg, cinnamon, and sprinkles.
- Let the glaze set before storing or serving.

- Chilling the dough will help with shaping the cookies.
