Description

Delicious holiday cookies decorated with glaze and sprinkles.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons eggnog
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients and mix to form a soft dough.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the dough and cut into holiday shapes.
  7. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 9–11 minutes.
  8. Let cookies cool completely. Mix eggnog and powdered sugar to make the glaze.
  9. Spoon glaze over cookies and top with nutmeg, cinnamon, and sprinkles.
  10. Let the glaze set before storing or serving.
